A Mexico cooking class provides a unique insight into the world of Mexican cuisine. The cuisine is known all over the world, although many people do not know that it is actually a combination of the Aztec, Maya and Spanish cuisines. The Aztec influence can still be found thanks to the use of corn in many of the dishes. During the Mexican cooking workshop we will of course work with this, as with a number of other typically local ingredients. Mexican cuisine has a number of delicious dishes, it is not surprising that the Spaniards have succeeded in making the dishes popular all over the world. In the Netherlands, for example, we know the guacamole and tacos, during the Mexican cooking workshop we also work with lesser-known dishes and ingredients from this beautiful country.

America Hawaii cooking class
During the Hawaiian cooking class we will discuss the delicious cuisines that this American island has to offer. It is a combination of the cuisines of England, Japan and Polynesia. Important ingredients in many of the dishes are agricultural products, in addition to, for example, sea animals, pasta and beef. Many local restaurants serve rice and noodles, something that many people discover on their honeymoon. A large number of Asians live in Hawaii, which means that various influences from those cuisines can be found. Regional cuisine is a multicultural cuisine of the Indo-Mauritanians, Creoles, Chinese, French and English. Mauritians grow cane sugar on the island from which they distill the traditional rum (Chamarel), which we will certainly use in this workshop.

During the South African cooking class we make extensive use of the different spices, so that we can put dishes with spice on the table. We are working on Irio, Carure and Bobotie among others; dishes that you may be familiar with from African cuisine. The unique thing about South African cuisine is the mix of flavors that the interference of settlers and immigrants from Europe and Asia has brought to South Africa.
