During the Costa Rica cooking workshop, you will explore culinary traditions that have been brought together from Africa, South-West Europe, and China. Thanks to its location between two oceans, fish, shellfish, and seafood are a must. Additionally, Costa Rican cuisine is known for its abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The cooking workshop serves as an excellent preparation for a honeymoon in this beautiful country. If you’ve already traveled to this lovely land, you probably know the dish called ‘gallo pinto.’ It translates to ‘spotted rooster’ but is actually made up of rice and beans. The dish is flavored with onions, coriander, and Worcestershire sauce. Costa Ricans enjoy it as a hearty breakfast and have a lunch version called ‘casados.’ During the cooking workshop, we will, of course, use local ingredients to create unique dishes.
In this cuisine, you’ll also find a lot of chicken, as well as pork and steak. You can expect red and black beans combined with rice. Fried plantains, lettuce, or cabbage with tomatoes are often found on the plate. Some traditional dishes from Costa Rica include ‘arroz con pollo,’ ‘barbudos,’ and ‘olla de carne,’ which are meat with chicken, an omelet with green beans, and a meat, banana, and yucca stew, respectively. The dishes we prepare during the Costa Rica cooking workshop come together to create a delicious traditional meal.
