Cookies (and similar techniques)

What are cookies?

Cookies are used by (almost) all websites. In fact, they are files with text that your desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile phone stores when you use our website.

What are similar techniques?

JavaScript and web beacons are standard internet techniques that together with cookies ensure that a system can collect information (JavaScripts), store it in small, simple text files (cookies) and then send it (web beacons). Cookies and other techniques are used on almost all existing websites.

Why do you use these techniques?

We mainly use these techniques to ensure that:

  • When you visit our website, you do not always receive or need to enter the same information;
  • We can measure how our website is used and where we can improve it to serve you even better.

What types of cookies do you use?

We use the following types of cookies:

*Functional cookies
We use these cookies so that our website can function properly. Think of keeping completed forms.

*Analytical cookies
With analytical cookies, we collect statistics about the use of our website by visitors with the help of third parties. By measuring this website use, we can continue to develop our website for the benefit of our visitors.

Which cookies do you use?

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies – files stored on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by these cookies is usually transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there.

We use IP anonymization, which means that your IP address has been shortened within the European Union and all contracted states in the European Economic Area before it is sent to the US. Only in exceptional cases will the entire IP address be transferred to the Google server and then abbreviated there. Google uses this information on behalf of the owner of the website to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to the use of the website and internet usage for the website operator. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings. If you wish, you can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin here.

You can opt out of Google’s use of cookies by clicking on the following link: Privacy and terms for Google ads

For more information about Google technologies, see Google’s privacy policy.
