Last weekend I did a four-course seasonal menu cooking workshop with friends and family for my sixtieth birthday. In total we were thirty people and we cooked and ate upstairs. Everything was perfectly prepared and it was very cozy. At the end there was a good four-course dinner on the table and everyone enjoyed themselves. Nice location (inside) and everything was done according to agreement. Recommended.

Edit post company reply: I am afraid you did not understand what I wrote. I did not expect individual cooking classes. I expected higher level due to the price and previous experience. It is not a first opinion pointing out those things. If you change things people commented, the place for sure would be great. Wish you success in this.I do not recommend because of:1. Condition of cooking tools and machines - eg. Old Plastic cutboards, old stoves etc.2. No introduction and proper training on the chosen cuisine. Only printer recipes given for participants. The chef should cook with everyone and explain the cuisine.3. Limited space for cooking.4. Small portions for €75 each person.5. Chosen cuisine did not correspond with what was exactly cooked.The most disappointing were points 1 and 2. I expect tools in perfect condition, no plastic boards and a chef who can cook and explainall. Printing a paper can be done at home.

Had a great experience at KEUKENvuur. Both the collaboration and contact with Sil, and the final workshop that Sil and his colleagues had prepared for us. A cozy atmosphere, fun workshop and ultimately a delicious meal. Partly because of Sil but mainly because of ourselves 😜

On October 11 we attended a fantastic Malaysian cooking workshop at KeukenVuur!Under the leadership of Sil and his chef de partie's, we were put to work hard, which presented a great challenge for our Yellax chefs, both seasoned home cooks and colleagues who mainly have experience with the end product. A nice balance of learning and fun, and a unique experience to discover the flavors of Malaysia together.And if that wasn't enough, we also took a fun quiz with none other than Sinterklaas as a special guest! His presence provided an extra cheerful note and some nice surprises.Thank you, Sil and team, and Santa Claus, for this unforgettable evening!

Today we did the cooking workshop combined with a leadership workshop. Highly recommended. The leadership theory fitted seamlessly with practice; very nice to see how everyone came into their own with assignments. And also super tasty dishes/recipes!

I would like to echo the feedback shared by others about semi-satisfactory level of workshops given at the place. First, you need to lower standards as the place itself is quite old-fashion, messy and as per my standards for kitchen even dirty. The amator level rather, I’m afraid. Secondly, as you might noticed reading the answers of the owner here on less favourable reviews, you will be welcomed by passive-aggressive attitude through the whole workshop. We had a corporate Christmas dinner organised there, first and last time. On top, be sure drinks are not drinkable there if you paid for alcohol menu also. We had to go to AH nearby and buy on our own cost.I wish the owner can take a feedback and listen to suggestions shared in reviews, instead of writing back snide reply which can be sure I will receive also.

Edit (after owner's response):I think this is childish of you. if you offer an event for multiple people, you can also expect multiple reviews. I am the treasurer of the staff association that also participated. Paying by card itself costs 25Eur!?! I thought that was really strange.In my opinion, this workshop is certainly not worth 72Eur (excluding drinks and transaction costs), because I expected to learn tips/new methods. Cooking workshop must be educational and/or challenging. I just had to make diced tomatoes. It was still a challenge with a knife that didn't work :) It seems it was because we are amateurs :P In the end it was a nice evening with colleagues. But certainly not because of 50 minutes in the kitchen, but because of the 2 hours of pleasant conversation. For that, I prefer to go to a restaurant and eat something delicious prepared by a professional chef. Not by an amateur who is not allowed to use a knife. :)There was also Spanish tortillas on the menu at the Italian workshop. :)

With 16 people we did the Italian cooking workshop recently. It can be good or bad depending on the expectations. If you're looking for a nice atmosphere with the people, not very interested in the cooking part and wanna have some drinks, it will be okay(still I think not worth the price though - 76€ pp). However, if you're there for a 'cooking workshop' that you do all the recipe from start to finish, then it is not suitable for large groups and you will not be satisfied in the end.For me, it was not what I was expecting, it was fun to get together with colleagues and spend (very little)time in the kitchen but for that price and from a 'cooking workshop', I would expect more.Ps: Please sharpen your knives.

Our company (16 people) did the "italian workshop" last weekend.After reading the good reviews, we were quite excited, however the workshop is not really worth it.The kitchen is quite small for larger groups and the equipment is not great (knives were not sharp at all). Each of us got a really small task to do in the 3hour workshop (i.e. cut 2 onions, make pesto) which was generally finished within 10-15 min. There is a chef present to help out, but that is scarcely required, since the recipes are very very simple.The food itself was ok, and we had fun chatting and eating, but definitely not worth the price tag.

We had a cooking workshop here with family. Sil was our host and we had a wonderful evening. All 3 courses (vegetarian) were delicious, and we appreciated the passion behind many of the ingredients - the homemade tempeh, beet vinegar and miso among others. He indulged our curiosity and we enjoyed learning how he pickles vegetables and ferments the tempeh and miso. We even tasted some homemade hops infused alcohol. Great space full of quirky collections. The cookbook collection was fascinating. Only downside is the location (tough to get to with public transport), and the drink choices. Wine was limited - next time I would bring some special wine to go with the very special food. Highly recommend for a group outing.

We recently hosted a team night out for 45 of our global marketing colleagues. We wanted a fun and team building evening and KUEKENvuur absolutely delivered!From the planning, to the preparation when we arrived, our team has all shared it was one of the best group events we have done. The team of Timo, GR Sils and others were incredibly supportive of those who had limited culinary skills. :-) We were also incredibly impressed with the end result and everyone has indicated we would making these recipes in our own homes.I cannot recommend this experience enough. If you are coming to Utrecht or the outer areas, this needs to be on your agenda!

With our team (16 people) we did a very nice, cozy and well-groomed Italian cooking workshop at Sil. The location itself was a bit of a search, but once inside you will find a very practical, clean and cozy kitchen, with very nice details! I had very pleasant contact with Sil beforehand and he was also very flexible. Dietary wishes (vega, halal) can be passed on and that is really taken into account (even with the drinks). Even people who can't cook very well can still do it here haha. Instructions are clear, Sil was around for tips & tricks and the workshop was very smooth and relaxed. We also laughed a lot! After cooking you all sit down at the table and enjoy! What delicious dishes we all made and ate together! Price/quality ratio is also excellent. Highly recommended!

We were a little late, the chef was absolutely stressed about the time, in the end we made the whole menu in record time and had plenty of time left for dinner and drinks. The group downstairs was loud and the noise was not pleasant, there was no door to reduce the sound from the other group. Sufficient drinks provided, choice in drinks was somewhat limited with 1 red and 1 white wine. In the end a nice evening with a pleasant chef but there is some room for improvement.
